August is Black Philanthropy Month, which celebrates and amplifies Black giving, encourages investment in Black-led nonprofit organizations and shines a light on the importance of continued investment in Black philanthropic leadership and funding equity. There are huge disparities when it comes to revenues and unrestricted assets between white-led and Black-led organizations. A recent survey by the Nonprofit Finance Fund found more white-led nonprofits receive unrestricted funds as compared to Black-led organizations. White-led nonprofits were also more likely to receive corporate donations — 71% vs 58% for Black-led nonprofits -- have revenue from sales and funding from the federal government and investment income. Black Philanthropy Month highlights these disparities and promotes financial giving for Black-led and Black-benefitting nonprofits. Give 8/28 builds on the momentum created by Black Philanthropy Month with days of giving for Black nonprofits. And it is tax-deductible as well.
Please join the Greatest MINDS in this giving campaign today.
